A Blast From the Past…

In my Public Relations class, one of our topics for writing is about an era of PR history that we are interested in.  One of the eras that I am most interested in is that of the World War II time.  I think that it would be very eye-opening to travel back to that time from today and see all of the different things that were different then as well as what is taboo now that was okay back then and vice-versa.

Obviously, the biggest difference about that era compared to today is that there was a world war going on, but the interesting thing for me is how many things that in turn were effected by the war.  The fact that a country is involved in a war takes a toll on that nation and changes circumstances inside of the country as a result.  Through the 1940s, the United States changed a lot.  As for Public relations, the and the armed forces, they had a large job ahead of them.

What interests me most, however, is not the fact that there was a war going on, as there is today, but the changes that have taken place since then.  I would love to have the opportunity to go back to this point in time to see firsthand what the culture was like and what type of things were going on compared to what we have now.
